I’ve always loved having a secret garden wherever I live. There are little joys found at different places along the path, around the corner, or nestled under a branch. Occasionally, my garden is shared with others. But really, it’s for me.
Inside, I have a secret garden as well. This garden is being kept inside my heart. When I search there, I’ve got special joys as well. I look for them when things aren’t going so well. They are my good memories, my connections to others, my appreciation of life.
Just like my outside garden, this garden needs to be cared for and fed. Anything that is of value to us should be important enough for us to spend time on. We can’t expect an untended garden or vision to flourish without it.
I think we get lost in the busyness of life and forget we are in charge of this life of ours, inside and out. I invite you to explore yours and see where it may need some tending.
